28 weeks

I had my 28 week appointment on Friday, which included the tasty glucose test. I looked online today and the results came back as normal.

As usual the rest of the appointment was pretty uneventful. The best type of appointment. I did get a Tdap shot because I guess even though I had one with Grace, it is advised to do again because the immune system is diminished when pregnant. I got the flu shot with the kids earlier in the week when we visited their pediatrician. 

The baby's heartbeat was 152 and she is measuring right on spot with her due date. Now I am officially in the third trimester and my appointments will be bi-weekly! I can't believe we are at that point now. I go back after our trip to Virginia. I see the hematologist in two weeks as well, which I expect will include a prescription for my low platelets. 

All is well though! I'm beginning to get hip and back pain after a lot of activity aka every day because we are always on the go. Nothing terrible, but I have now started feeling "pregnant." I'm happy I lasted this long without any aches or pains. 

On Wednesday I'm going to have 3D/4D pictures taken of the little girl. Hopefully she is in a good position for some great facial feature pictures! Fingers crossed!

Baby #3 Update

I'm 26 weeks and will be 27 weeks on Monday. I had a regular check-up last week and everything looks great with the baby. The only "issue" is my platelets, which is no surprise. I've been to my hematologist already and we decided we wouldn't meet again until November because this is deja vu for us... My platelets will continue to drop and then I'll take the usual medication in November to build the platelets back up before delivery day. I had a blood draw a couple days ago and the platelets were still at 100, (the magic number for an epidural) and I was happy to see they weren't too low, too early.

Next week I have a regular appointment and I'll also have my glucose test. I've never had a problem with the glucose test and so fingers crossed it goes the same way the third time around. Other than that... it's been thankfully very uneventful and I've been very comfortable! Not an ache or pain to speak of. I'm absolutely more tired and I 100% nap every single day, but I'm kind of a professional napper regardless of being pregnant or not :)

I'm going to make an appointment in a week at the ultrasound shop for 3D/4D pictures. My doctors won't do another ultrasound after 20 weeks (unless there was a problem, of course) and I'd like to see one more with the added bonus of facial features. By 29/30 weeks they have definitely chunked up!

Now it has really dawned on me that I need to get organized. I need to order a few baby items like teenie tiny diapers and new burp cloths. And the bigger task will be decorating the nursery and also moving the guest room downstairs. The last "empty" bedroom upstairs will be the new nursery and the guest room will join the playroom. I want to make the playroom/guest room a comfortable space and not a primary color nightmare, so we have a fun project on our hands. Time to get started!

Here is my inspiration photo for the new nursery. I found a painter that will take care of these gingham walls for us because I think the baby would be 5 before we ever finished those lines.

All is well with baby #3! I'm getting more and more excited for her arrival in December, which I know will be here in no time!

Haha! Thank you, William! I told him we would use his old crib for the new baby, and he wasn't so sure about sharing it. Though it is dismantled in a closet right now and I doubt he's been missing it! He built a tiny crib with his Legos and said it has a top to it, but when we want to take the baby out then we can take off the top. How creative! It made me laugh :) A thoughtful big brother.

Baby #3 is... a GIRL!

This was our picture announcement of the big news!

William really wasn't upset about the news. I really don't even know why he made that face for the picture. He has been on a real kick of makingfaces for pictures, but it fit the theme pretty perfectly and I went with it. Though William did insist repeatedly that the baby would be a boy and NOT a girl. Looks like William's gut feeling was wrong!

We found out about baby girl when I was around 15 weeks along. I went with William and Grace to the gender ultrasound and asked the technician to write down the gender. We met Matt at Armando's for dinner immediately following and opened the envelope with the news all together.

Very exciting. I'm happy Grace will have a sister and I know William will make a great big brother to TWO little sisters!

We announced baby #3 around the 12 week mark, which was mid June. I had my 12 week appointment on June 18 and told all our family after our appointment. We had two great appointments at this point (8 week and the 12 week), and were excited to share the news.

It will be a very exciting Christmas season! Who knows when the baby could arrive... and if baby #3 arrives in William and Grace fashion, which is both arriving exactly 3 days early that would mean a Christmas baby! Eek! I'm hoping baby might be content and stay put on that day in particular. We shall see!

William's reaction to the news was: "We're having another Grace?" with a kind of unconvincing tone of voice. It was pretty funny! Would it be so bad to have another Grace, William? Ha! Grace said, "Ok!" and ran off somewhere on a mission. She is very focused on babies when they're present, so we will have another situation on our hands unlike William who wasn't distracted by Grace's presence at all. Grace is often found next to people's young babies patting their heads and trying to rock them in whatever vessel they're currently laying in. Already has that mama bear instinct, I guess!

We are all very excited and I've already picked out the design for the new nursery. Those rooms upstairs are filling up fast!
