Meet the Teacher

It's a new year - school year that is! Last week was our Meet the Teacher Day at school and this year Grace gets to join in the fun!

Big brother torture begins

We brought Grace to her classroom first, which might look familiar to her because it was William's classroom from last year. Grace joined me on several classroom trips to visit William last year and so she knows his teacher and teacher's assistant. She played for a few minutes, we picked up her school bag and she gave her teacher a hug on the way out. A very nice visit!

Castle fun with Mrs. Kest

William's visit came next and he is down the hallway from Grace's class. He will go 3 days this year AND be taking Spanish after school on Wednesday each week. When he walked in he met his teacher and her assistant then went with the assistant to see where he will drop his bag, pick out his name tag (which he picked out actually! So begins learning to spell and read!) then create a frame for our family picture. The picture hangs on the wall with all his other classmates' family pictures. Another nice visit and William said he was looking forward to going back next week.

William is a "Shining Star" this year

They played on the playground for a little and we headed home. 1 week until school starts!

Love these two!

William's First Week

The first day of school was great for William. He was very excited to go and see "Langholz" - his teacher! We worked on the "Mrs." part and now he tells me after school that he played with Mrs. Langholz and Mrs. Kest (his assistant teacher). He also says they nap at school. Two of his classmates were in his class last year, so he plays with Davis and Lola a lot. The other kids are adorable too. I'm the room mom and had the chance to go in and take pictures of them all. I made a little class page of pictures with their names and laminated it. William loves to look at the pictures.

School is going great for William. The first week went very well and he said he had fun every day. He told me the second day of school he read books, sang a song and played with "Light Queen."

His teacher has texted a couple photos and wrote a nice email saying all is well! Fun to get the little update.

William loved phones and cameras? Huh?

New artwork up on the wall

William has had blue day and red day at school, and I can see his identifying colors has gotten so much better. Red, blue, pink, orange, yellow, green are really good! Amazing what a couple days with a teacher can do!

So far so good! I'm looking forward to their first class party - it will be a Halloween party. Fall Festival is coming up, which William loved last year. Then lots of class playdates and other fun events coming up!

A New Year!

School year that is! William is in 2 day 2's at the Methodist School with Mrs. Langholz this year. We had our Meet the Teacher Day today. It was actually planned for tomorrow, but I did the class bags and dropped them off a day early, his teacher gave me all the info while we were there. William was with me and immediately headed for the cars. Mrs. Langholz has Lighting McQueen in her classroom and so she's good in William's book!

Went straight for the cars!

After talking to his teacher and some other moms, we tried to leave and William, of course, was perfectly content to stay. I convinced him that he could return next week. No separation anxiety for William! We played on the playground with a friend from last year for a bit and headed home. The first day is next Tuesday!

The class theme this year is an owl and William loves his new owl school bag! Credit goes to my friend Kristin for stitching the whole bag, but I am proud of my fabric choices for the owl ha!

Looking forward to the new class!

William's 1st Day at MSEE

William starts school today at the Methodist School! I am so excited for him. We had a meet and greet with his teacher Ms. Doudney last week and he was totally enthralled with the classroom. We had to pick him up and take him out to leave. His teacher and her assistant Christy are very nice and we met a few of his classmates as well who are adorable.

We got ready for the first day of school at home with a big breakfast! Scrambled eggs, hash browns and yogurt - yum! Dada stayed home this morning to eat breakfast with us and take the ride over to Methodist School. William was a little attached to Dada this morning and so picture taking was not on his agenda - sad for Mama. We got a couple cute pictures though! As soon as William got into his classroom he ran for the toys and didn't look back. Matt and I just waved bye to his teacher and hit the road! I'm looking forward to pick-up and seeing how he did. See you at 11:45a, William! You're such a big boy!
