Here is video from today of Clare trying to reach a toy in William's room. The beginning of her trying to crawl! Watch out world!

Grace is 7 Months

Grace is 7 months old now!

And has been - since last month! One small reason for the delay in posting is that Grace is on the go and she is FAST. She has no interest in staying still. She's pulling up on everything. Crawling over everything. Grabbing everything. Bouncing up and down. Holding on by one hand to the couch or ottoman. She is a lady on the move for sure. The picture above definitely sums her up!

Grace started crawling the day before we left on a ski trip sans children. She slowly moved her way forward a couple crawls then flopped to her belly. That weekend the babysitter Kelly sent us video of her moving along slowly. By the time we got back on Monday night she was crawling like a champ. She pulled up in her bed just a few days later. Game over. She loves to be mobile.

Always into something now that she can move

So the crawling and pulling up were the big spotlights for 6 months going into 7 months. Plus going into a sitting position from the crawling position. She's taking 2 solid naps a day, plus a 3rd every now and then. She has 4 bottles a day. I try to feed her food twice a day. It usually only happens once though with all the activity happening in our house. She does love a Mum Mum cracker. She's even started to pick up puffs by herself to eat.

Still loves her big brother and is always cracking up when she watches him. Now that she's getting mobile and starting to pull on him, he's irritated with her. Trust me - it isn't fun when she grabs hold of your hair and yanks as hard as possible. She's still sweet as can be and has the happiest smile of all.

Happy 7 months to our little lady!

Grace Crawling??

Yes, I just posted about Grace sitting up. NEXT! Yet another milestone she's hitting, which is the BEGINNING of the crawling... uh oh. Yesterday she got up on her knees and hands, but went right back to her belly. Today she got up on her knees and hands then started rocking back and forth. She's been doing this all day today! After her morning nap when I went in to see her, she flipped over then got on her knees and rocked a little. Here is a short clip from a video I took of her. She would go from her belly to the knees and back and forth.

Stair Climber

Being sick hasn't stopped William. On Sunday night he climbed the stairs for the first time much to our surprise. We never introduced stairs to him, so we were pretty impressed when he climbed up as if he had done it before. Today he climbed all the way up to the landing. Video below of William tackling the summit (with a few shaky moments as I jump forward to catch him in case he falls!). Time to get a gate...

We have a crawler

It's official. We have a crawler! 7 months and 4 days old. I think this boy is going to be a mover. He took a few steps this morning at breakfast club (I think the Crofoot's amazing playroom and all the babies provided all the incentive to get moving!) and then this afternoon is when the multiple steps came about at home. Watch as Matt lures him with a bottle.

Is this crawling?

The end of last week I thought for sure William would be crawling by the weekend. He's been bouncing up and down for several days, moving his knees, just not getting that he needs to move his hands in coordination with his knees. Sunday came and no crawling just yet. However, today he's moved into a plank position instead of focusing on bouncing on his knees. I'm not sure what that means! Almost looks like he's trying to get into a standing position. I'm quite impressed by his plank. I don't know when he picked up the Pilates move, but he certainly can hold it for a good amount of time. Maybe crawling by the end of this week? We shall see.
