Tummy Progress

As many of you know I hail from the great state of Virginia and went to college in Pennsylvania, so many of my friends and family are scattered throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast -- meaning, far from Florida and visits never frequent enough. I'm getting the question "Are you showing yet?" from those that haven't seen me in the past couple months and thought I would share my tummy progress (or maybe lack thereof). One of these days I bet I'll pop and I'm looking forward to the many perks that come along with that happening. Such as... people giving up chairs, holding the door for me, carrying my groceries, etc.

What Beyonce and I have in common . . .

We're both expecting a baby! I love this clip of her announcing it to the world last night at the VMAs - so cute!

Nursery Begins!

I am so excited to begin decorating our baby boy's nursery and this past weekend the first piece of furniture arrived - the crib! I absolutely love it and can't wait for the rest of the furniture to arrive. We also plan to paint the walls a light beige color and put up white wainscoting around the room to dress it up a bit. Then Matt's big project will be the closet - making it baby-size appropriate.

More pictures to come as the decorating continues!

It's a BOY!

Bring out the blue! We're having a BOY!

We found out Baby Orosz is a boy on Friday, August 12. Matt and I had our appointment at 12:30pm and celebrated over lunch in Baldwin Park. Initially, Matt had asked if the tech could write down the gender, so we could open the "answer" at lunch. Plans changed -- within two minutes of getting started, the tech knew whether it was a boy or a girl, so Matt threw that plan to the wind and wanted to know while we were there. Fine with me! I'm not so patient anyway! I was very happy to finally hear what we're expecting and so excited to hear baby boy! It is really nice to begin envisioning our little boy, picking his name, and starting the process of decorating his nursery! By the time he arrives, I think we'll feel like we know him very well!

Celebrating our baby BOY at lunch after our appointment.

Later that afternoon my mom arrived in Orlando (my dad wasn't able to fly down till Saturday morning), so we weren't able to shout the word "boy" till Saturday afternoon. We all went to dinner at Park Plaza Friday night and Matt's parents tried desperately for a hint. Matt was the target. I'm a vault. Matt did let it slip one time before dinner in front of my mom, but I'm not sure she caught it.
Dinner on Park Ave.

Saturday night we invited everyone over for dinner at our place. All the grandparents, aunts and uncles came over, and before we got started on dinner played a little game. I cut out baby onesies and created a banner. Each onesie had a letter and the banner spelled out "Baby Orosz". Only one onesie had the answer "boy" on the back. So each person snatched a onesie and on the count of 3 everyone flipped them over to see if they had the answer. Sonni won! The anchor of the family was able to share the breaking news - how appropriate :)

Ready to share the news!
Everyone picking their onesie guess.
Sonni wins! It's a boy!

Pointing out the evidence of boy :)

Yay! It's a boy!

Pendulum Test Results

I've been asked a handful of times whether I have a gut feeling as to whether we're having a boy or a girl. I really haven't had a gut feeling until earlier this week when I told Matt I was starting to believe "it" is a girl. No reason to think it, but that is what I've been feeling as of late.

So we thought we would test this feeling through the pendulum test. Matt's mom, Jody, shared the theory of the pendulum test with us and said it worked for her all three times - three boys. I wondered if there was any truth to this test and so Matt and I decided to give it a whirl. We took our needle and thread and came up with... a circle! According to Jody that means a boy. But will it be correct? It wasn't for Kate Hudson. She describes her pendulum test results on ET Tonight -- results being girl and she recently welcomed a boy into the world.
Please note: Kate Hudson says a circle means a girl and back and forth means a boy. Who knows!

We're happy either way, but it is fun to test the theories!

My parents arrive in Orlando this Friday for the gender reveal on Saturday night. We're having the family over for dinner to share the news. Looking forward to the weekend!

ZZZZs . . .

We hope Baby Orosz will enjoy catching his/her ZZZZs as much as I do (Matt isn't a bad napper either) and hopefully our recently ordered crib will help in that endeavor! We just ordered the crib last night and can't wait to see how it looks in Baby Orosz's bedroom. We are waiting on purchasing a dresser because we're between a couple options at Pottery Barn OR just using a normal dresser with a pine changing table my dad made for me when I was born. I do like the idea of reusing the changing table! Then my mom has plenty of nursery items I will love to take on loan such as my Beatrix Pottery collection and maybe some oil paintings. Kind of like our wedding day... something new, something old, something borrowed, MAYBE something blue... less than two weeks till we find out whether we're having a boy or a girl!

Our crib is the color espresso shown above.
