Happy 1 month birthday to Grace!

The month has flown by and it has been a very good month. Grace has been such a mellow baby and is making the transition to 2 under 2 pretty smooth!

She is so alert and loves to watch faces up close when being held. Her eyes look brown already and her hair is brown too. Funny - she lost some of her hair up front in the third week JUST like William did. It is already growing in - same as William. Her right eye looked like it had a blocked tear duct - just like William - in the second week, but has already cleared up. Speaking of William and Grace similarities, the non-similarity is their different coloring. Her skin color seems to be darker than William's. More like her Mama's!

Brown eyed girl? |
Grace is eating very well. Such a quick little eater. She's done within 18 minutes usually. I know that because I have a nursing app that gives me that information :) William his first month was an average of 45 minutes, so you can imagine that I am loving this! It's great for William because I'd rather be playing with him and letting her snooze instead of being stuck on the couch. She's had a bottle a few times and took it immediately. I gave her the first bottle and she didn't mind me giving it to her at all.
In her 4th week she started smiling. I went to get her from her crib in the morning and when she heard my voice she moved her head over and smiled two huge smiles. It was adorable!

Grace has been in her crib since week 2 and has done great. She even naps in her crib during the day. I've been able to get her down while William naps probably 75% of the time - what a treat! Two babies down for a couple of hours. She wants to go to bed early. By 7p she starts to get very fussy, which isn't like her. We bathe her, feed her in her room then put her down. 90% of the time she goes down without a hitch. She's done a few 8 hour sleep stints (even one 9 hour) and I would say the average has been 5-6 hours since day 3!
We are working on tummy time and just brought out the good ol' farmyard mat! She holds her head up pretty well.

Check out how strong I am! |
On Tuesday, October 1 we had Grace's 1 month wellness visit with Dr. Middleton. We were in and out quickly. The only hitch was a bit of irritation underneath her neck from spit-up, but that is already cleared up. Here are the stats:
11 lbs 3 oz - 92nd %
23" long - 99th %

Ooo I keep growing fast! At the doctor's office. |
Grace is going to a lot more places than William did at 1 month because it's hard to stay in the house with a toddler. I keep her close to me though and hopefully with nursing that will keep the germs at bay. She's been to Gymboree class with me and William. She's been to the grocery store several times. Open gym. Restaurants. Eye doctor appointment. Again, she's so mellow that she makes the trips very easy. Typically she snoozes right through the outing. I have been by myself to breakfast a handful of times with the two of them and it's been a breeze. William is much better about not throwing his food, so I can actually sit there and enjoy my own meal! We love going to Dunkin Donuts together :)

A great first month down in the books! We are now looking forward to the holidays coming up and Grace celebrating her first Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plus all the fun baby milestones along the way!
